came home from work today and found a bird. yep. a bird. my immediate reaction was to take a picture and text jordan: "is this someone's pet?"
because the answer was clearly yes, i put some bird seed in a box and lured the poor bird in. the cats are particularly interested in the movement coming from the dread cat carrier (what? i have no bird cage laying around the house).
i've posted to craigslist and will call or email the local vets and pet stores in the morning. the poor girl (i think it's a girl?!) has a leg band and had to have had a home. she was quite hungry, that's for sure. i think it's safe to say that little studying was accomplished tonight. meh. tomorrow is another day.

i just hope the cats don't figure out how to open the carrier from the outside! (murphy's law - whenever you have a lot to do, there is a lost bird?)
Ahop has pet birds similar to this one at his house in Colombia. They just roam freely around a little patio they have on the side of their house. For some reason I don't think this one made it all the way from S. America though...
